Datasheet SDS L-alanyl-L-glutamine as a substitute for L-glutamine, an essential amino acid. Compared with L-glutamine, L-alanyl-L-glutamine is more stable in solution and reduces the build up of toxic ammonia. As L-alanyl-L-glutamine needs to be hydrolyzed by cell peptidases first (into L-alanine and L-glutamine) before it can be used in metabolic processes, there is a slightly longer cell growth delay compared with using L-glutamine, though there is no toher effect to cell growth.
