Melanocytes, keratinocytes, endothelial cells and fibroblasts are vital components necessary for normal skin development and function. Abnormal proliferation and regulation of cells within the dermal cell system contribute to the development of pathological disorders such as eczema, psoriasis and melanoma. In vitro culture of human skin cells is an essential research tool, widely used to evaluate skin toxicity, pharmacological testing and tissue repair.
