Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) Assay Kit is an assay kit for the detection and quantification of Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) activity in serum, plasma, animal tissue homogenates and cell lysates using a microplate reader. Disodium p-nitrobenzene phosphate (p-NPP), a widely used phosphatase chromogenic substrate, hydrolyzes to p-nitrophenol under the action of alkaline phosphatase in alkaline conditions. Under alkaline conditions, p-nitrophenol is yellow and has a maximum absorption peak at 405 nm. The darker of yellow product is, the higher the alkaline phosphatase activity. Therefore, the activity of alkaline phosphatase can be calculated by measuring the OD value at 405 nm.
