Nitrobenzene is used to manufacture aniline. The nitrobenzene ring is similar to the Nicarbazin structure therefore nitrobenzene was used to raise antibodies against nicarbazin. Nicarbazin is a synthetic broad spectrum chemical anticoccidial for prevention and control of coccidiosis in broilers. It is designed for continuous prophylactic use in broiler chickens. Its protective action occurs on Day 5 in the life cycle of the developing coccidia so there is minimal tissue damage. Nicarbazin interferes with mitochondrial metabolism and inhibits oocyst production. It is a broad spectrum anticoccidial effective for the prevention of coccidiosis caused by E.tenella, E.acervulina, E.maxima, E.necartrix and E.brunetti.
Each vial contains 0.5 ml of antigen covalently bound to horseradish peroxidase suitable for use as a tracer in immunoassay development with Nicarbazine Antibody (Cat. No. 252420).
